Enjoy a Cup of THRIVE Farmers Coffee at Chick-fil-A

THRIVE ChickfilaThere isn’t much I enjoy more in the morning than a good cup of coffee and talking with a friend. That is unless,  it is a GREAT cup of coffee, and conversation with SEVERAL friends!  This morning Chick-fil-A of  Waxahachie invited several friends and I out for breakfast  to try their new coffee blends and tell us a little about their partnership with THRIVE Farmers Coffee.

Did you say Coffee? I’m in!

Thrive Coffee dateWe started off sampling the iced coffee, everyone choosing to add the option of french vanilla.  Being that the weather is warm most seasons in the south, having an iced option on the menu is very important.  We were all pleasantly surprised by just the right amount of sweetness in the iced coffee.  Next, we sampled hot coffee with the option of  fresh cream.  We found the hot coffee was a nice medium roast, not too weak or overly robust.THRIVE CollageThe THRIVE Farmers Coffee created this blend just for Chick-fila-A to pair perfectly with their menu offerings. Our group found both the iced and hot coffees were a great match with both the sweet cinnamon clusters and the more savory Chick-fil-A chick-n-minis. Both the hot and iced coffees are available in a range of sizes ranging from $1.59- $2.59.

Chick-fil-A is a favorite in our community because they are consistently exceeding expectations in customer service and food quality. I was already expecting a delicious cup of coffee, but once I had the opportunity to learn a little more about the story behind Thrive Farmers Coffee I was really impressed with this partnership.

Who is THRIVE Farmers™ Coffee?
THRIVE Farmers™ Coffee is a specialty grade coffee company, headquartered in Atlanta. THRIVE Farmers created a unique, farmer-direct model that means farmers directly share in the revenue generated by the sale of their coffee. This can increase farmers’ profits up to ten times more than traditional coffee models and allows farmers to give back to their communities, reinvest in their crops, and grow their family farms.

What exactly does “farmer-direct” mean?
Farmer-direct is a growing trend in food service, but a completely new model in the coffee industry. The THRIVE Farmers™ Coffee farmer-direct model gives coffee farmers direct ownership of the coffee from the time it is picked to the time it is sold to Chick-fil-A. The model allows Chick-fil-A to know exactly where our coffee comes from in each country. It also allows THRIVE Farmers to establish relationships with the farmers and invest in them by helping them with best practices to produce better crops.

What is specialty grade coffee?

THRIVE Farmers Coffee is a specialty grade coffee. To be labeled as specialty grade by the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the coffee requires an industry score of at least 80 points. THRIVE Farmers blend for Chick-fil-A consistently scored well above the 80-point threshold.
