Disney Pixar INSIDE OUT opens everywhere this Friday, June 19th!

There is always A LOT going on inside my head. Just ask my husband. He’s a doll, my closest friend, and even after 13 years I still never have a simple answer for his “What’cha thinking about?” questions. That’s just one of the reasons I am so excited our family is going to see Disney Pixar’s Inside Out this Friday June 19th! (You ARE going too, right???) You’ve gotta love a  film that is taking the chance to explore and talk about what’s going on inside our heads. I know a few people who think emotions are dangerous territory.

Disney Pixar Inside Out emotions Joy Sadness

You see, even when you are SO connected to something or someone, like my husband and I, feelings and emotions are hard to sort out and communicate sometimes. And when you try to figure out someone else’s emotions & feelings- Uh, fuhgeddaboudit- everyone has a different take.  I think that’s because we all have so many different memories and experiences that influence how we see a situation.

Even the cast members of INSIDE OUT (Joy – Amy Poehler, Fear – Bill Hader, Anger-Lewis Black, Disgust -Mindy Kaling, and Sadness – Phyllis Smith) , explaining what they think goes into making a Pixar animated movie, have a few different perspectives. Take a look below :

The story line of Inside Out  involves a young girl (Riley) and her family relocating to a new city and the Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

With our family recently moving to a new city I’m thinking we are all going to have a lot to relate to. I’m looking forward to the conversation that will surround our dinner table after the movie. There are probably a lot of emotions that we need to connect with. I’ll be sure to update with a ‘Chase Family Movie Review’ of Inside Out this weekend!
