Our New House – a preview

Welcome Home our new house front

Moving from the house you’ve called home for the last 8+ years is truly a huge deal. Especially when it was during a season of so much “life”.  Our previous home held so many memories of our kids growing up. Sebastian taking his first steps. Sydney and Jonathan getting ready for first dances and dates. Birthday Parties, study groups, and dinner invitations all held so much laughter- And to be real it held a few tears too. That’s what makes a house a home. It’s the place that you feel safe enough to be you. The place that shields you from the storms as well as the place you can all have an impromptu family dance party in your jammies, right?

We’re definitely taking all those memories with us to the new place we’ll call home. We also want to share with you a sneak peek of our new abode! The movers have just delivered our things so this is just a preview ( I’ll do a follow-up post- maybe a few as we unpack and redecorate).  But for now here are a few pics of the new place! Drumroll please………

There is still so much to show like the beautiful backyard,  neighborhood pools, and tree-lined streets. This is just a sneak peek though remember? Pretty sure I’ve got a few dozen boxes calling my name.

I’d love to hear your best decorating ideas or move in tips! Put them in the comments below!

Your home is lovely….it’s a blank canvas to do whatever you want! You can def add some warmth with curtains and rugs, and paint. You could even paint that mantel a warm color to match a corresponding wall. You can add color with those items as well, add some pillows and throws too. And if the space feels big you can always move your couch like a room divider, put a sofa table behind it, bring your loveseat to the wall and put a low bench type thing in front of the windows and plants (depending on if there is enough light). You can also turn your big rug a quarter turn (diamond shaped to the sofa) if you don’t want everything to looked “squared”, bringing the furniture out from lined along the wall will help give it a cozier feel/look also. Love a fireplace, so jealous. With all the squares in the tile and furniture, anything round, floral, paisleys, or shaped differently will soften up your rooms. Love it all, so happy for you guys, have fun with it. A big colorful floral arrangement would be lovely on your dining table and I can certainly see a photo wall of your family. ok, I’ve def said enough, lol. Decorating a new place is just so exciting!

  4. I’m so jealous. I want to move so badly I hate this house.

  12. Looks beautiful! My best move-in tip is to have a “staging area” of sorts. That area can stay messy and you can pull things from there and put them back there when you want them out of the way and want your sanity back LOL Good luck!

  20. Congratulations on your new home. It is lovely! So open and airy and those windows are amazing! My biggest decorating advice would be to be ruthless about getting rid of pieces that just don’t work in the new home. And another one, decorate one room at a time (the one you spend the most time) to avoid overwhelm. Happy decorating! That’s the fun part!
