Happy Thanksgiving Week everyone! Our kids have a short week at school. So that means my daily to-do list just went into double time : groceries, cleaning, packing, prepping for guests, unpacking decorations, baking, not to mention laundry. Always with the laundry! And all to be completed in less time than before. I need to make a plan!
What’s on your to-do list this week? Whatever is on the list this week, make sure that as you prep to carve the turkey, you are carving out some “ME Time” in your schedule too. Mom’s have a natural tendency to put the needs of others and the want for “perfection” above taking care of themselves. The truth is that is you need to take a few minutes for yourself to relax and rejuvenate during this season.
Before you get overwhelmed with all that is on your list, plan right now for the time that you are going to need to de-stress. Add a few things that are special treats just for YOU.
As I was out shopping at one of my trips to Randall’s I made sure to add in a PEOPLE magazine and Hershey’s bar on my trip. (Yes. Get the King Size. Trust me on this. The holidays require copious amounts of chocolate!) I’m tucking these items away for a few moments of “ME Time”.
I’m envisioning sitting down to relax as the pies finish baking or after the kids have snuggled up in their beds. I will cozy up on the sofa by the fire, take a deep breath and enjoy a magazine that’s just for me. For today’s ME time I planned to work at the coffee shop and tucked my magazine and Hershey’s chocolate in my bag for some me time then too.
Randall’s Just4U program wants to help make that much-needed ME Time possible! Save $1 off one People or Sunset magazines and one Reese’s, Hershey’s or other selected King size bar (2.1 to 5.0 oz) with a Just4U digital coupon ( while supplies last). This coupon is available from 11/21/14 – 12/19/14. Register online or in-store for free, then load the coupon into your account. You can also use the Just4U app on your phone while shopping in store.
Learn more about the Just4U program and grab your coupon on the website here.
I also picked up some amazing tricks & tips about organizing all the holiday activities in one of the PEOPLE articles I read.
What do you do to de-stress and have some me time during the busy holidays?
My Christmas shopping has been done for about a month, so I just kick back and relax every year around this time
I love to take naps. That helps me a lot, but sitting and reading magazines is a total guilty pleasure of mine as well.

That is a wonderful idea, I have to make my list right now ^_^
Me time is super important. I do not get much of it but shopping for toys seems to make me happy. It is like a chore and a hobby for me. The kids love the gifts they get and I am happy.

I make sure to carve out some me time weekly if not daily. I am just as important as my children and my household. If I am not running properly then none of those are either. I like to relax in a bubble bath or watch mindless TV.

What is this thing you call Me Time? I hear others speak of it as well and yet I NEVER experience it anymore. Tonight I was supposed to have Me Time so I could work and yet I have kids and animals surrounding me in my office as I type!
My me time is usually to read. I love to sit down with a good book as often as I can.

since I have been sick I take lot’s of naps while my daughter is at school I have a lot on my plate and I have to do list every day because my ADHD would forget with all I have going on of things I have to do. I found with the list I am not double booking myself so much.
Adding me time is something I have to remind myself to do throughout the year! For being as important as it is, it is very easy to forget!
I still need to add shopping to my holiday schedule! Thank goodness that I have two 4-day weekends in December/January!

Chocolate has always been one of my go to tools I use to de-stress (not always a good thing, LOL). I also love reading People magazine so I need to grab this coupon.
I think one thing I like to do to de-stress and refocus is watch a movie with a good family theme. I love the Hallmark movies or anything like that without murder or mayhem.
I like snuggle time on the couch watching a movie with my youngest. Those days are numbered so I love them when I get them now. 😉 I also like reading, with nothing on a to-do list distracting me.

This is my way. I am always using this idea. I used to make a to-do list at least a month before. It helps to reduce my stress and unwanted worries during shopping and I can plan my time for myself :). I know it is a fabulous idea.
I love sleeping in on Saturday morning and reading books at night. I love reading magazines while sipping my coffee

This is so hard, especially during the holiday season. I totally need to make the effort to take some me time.
I like to have a hot bubble bath and read a book for my me time. It is so important to remember to take time out to relax and focus on you.
COOK! Being in the kitchen is my own personal therapy. That or a pedicure.
