Perfect Indoor Play with Pillow Forts & #PopSecretForts

Pop Secret pillow fortsI have to give a huge Thanks to Pop Secret for sponsoring our indoor playtime and snacks today. It was a huge help to this mama!

The past few days have been struggling with a nasty virus but as all mamas know : The Show Must Go On. On day 1 and 2 of this illness, it was about all I could do to throw the hair back in a messy ponytail, hide under a pair of shades, and shuffle myself down to the end of the block in yesterday’s yoga pants ( after all, ALL yoga pants are black nobody will ever know). Also, I think one day I even drove myself to the end of the block… I’m telling ya it was BAD. My littles were so understanding to have quiet reading time on their own those days.

By day 3, the littles were growing weary of all our traditional indoor play activities and had read through their books.  Pop Secret came to my rescue by offering the idea of creating a pillow fort. This was the perfect solution for cooped up kids of any age. I remember having the most fun building forts in a corner of my house growing up. I knew they would be occupied all afternoon.

They grabbed the extra blankets, pillows, and got creative with a few leftover party supplies. While they finished up the fort, I headed into the kitchen to make a snack. Since I hadn’t made it to the store in a few days we were all out of a lot. I reached for a bag of Pop Secret and brought it back to their impressive fort.

They had a great time giggling and snacking together. I listened to them tell each other stories from outside the fort on the sofa. It was wonderful to know I could provide a fun afternoon activity without a lot of effort. Even our dog tried to climb into their cozy spot a few times. The only time they peeked out was to ask which movie I wanted to watch…. all Disney favorites and of course, a second bowl of Pop Secret!
