Something New is just around the Curve #theCurveAhead

The Curve Ahead Kia road

You know that feeling that comes over you when something incredible is just around the corner but you can’t quite see all the details just yet? It’s that mix of combined anticipation, excited energy, adrenaline and being equipped with the knowledge that you are allllmost there. You know it’s what you’ve been waiting for but you can feel it’s so much more than you imagined. Momentum and patience, on the inside it feels like watching electrical sparks bounce off the pavement.

We’ve certainly been feeling a lot of this as we wait on the arrival of our #OneTinyHumanComingSoon but this time we’re talking about the anticipation of something else entirely. Sunday Jan 8th, Kia will be unveiling itself in a form you’ve never seen from them before.

The Curve Ahead Kia Front View

Peter Schreyer – President & Chief Design Officer had this to say:

“This new vehicle is going to fundamentally change the global image of Kia. It will revolutionize the way people think about the brand and propel us upwards into a different era. You cannot believe how excited I am about this car.”

The Curve Ahead Kia side

We’ve gotten glimpses of this new vehicle revealed only through a series of four video episodes (I’ve included them below so you catch up!) I’ve been honored to be part of the Kia story for quite a while now and there is just no way I could possibly miss this event. The first unveiling will be in Detroit THIS SUNDAY and I will be there providing live coverage on site!! Want to join me???? Jan 8th, 6pm EST Kia will be streaming this LIVE as well at  TheCurveAhead.net

The Curve Ahead – Episode 1 (Twists and Turns)

The curve ahead represents unchartered territory, or a journey into the unknown. As an exciting new paradigm of performance beckons, it’s Kia’s attention to daring design detail that makes the journey more alluring.

0-to-100 kph. A benchmark for any car operating on a higher level of performance, and the number that enthusiasts look for first. The fastest-accelerating Kia to date represents a new paradigm of performance, its heart-pounding power encouraging you to grip the wheel a little more tightly.

The Curve Ahead – Episode 2 ( The Fastest Accelerating Kia)

Curiosity is the desire, the need, to learn more. On the road, it is the fascination about what lies beyond the curve ahead.

The Curve Ahead – Episode 3 (The Silhouette)

The curve, and the sense of curiosity, is also brought to life in the concave, fastback silhouette of Kia’s long-awaited all-new car. Inspired by a concept, Kia’s newest vehicle marries heart-pounding performance with purposeful and progressive design.

The Curve Ahead – Episode 4 (Attention to detail)

Be sure to follow along on twitter, instagram, facebook, and snapchat( @alicechase) as we provide live coverage from the North American International Auto Show and mark you calendars now for Jan 8th at 6pm EST to experience CurveAhead.net LIVE!

A Girlfriends Guide to Car Shopping #GFGuideToCarShopping

Girlfriends Guide to Car Shopping
This post was made possible by iConnect and Autotrader. I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions stated are 100% mine.

I spend a lot of time in cars. We’re not just talking morning commute and afternoon carpool lane kind of time either. I’ve had the privilege of adding road trips, auto shows, even off-road and drive events into my ever-growing automotive knowledge base. I’m also pretty lucky to have a small group of girlfriends that like spending time in cars as much as I do. The truth is we really LOVE talking about cars! This makes us a go-to resource whenever someone in our circle is ready to go car shopping too.

WhatsTrending-Tile_1200x900 (1)

We all know that the first person you go to is your girlfriends when you need help making a decision on, right? Researching and shopping for a new vehicle can be intimidating. There are so many questions that pop up, especially concerning design, technology, and price. There really is no right or wrong answer because we all have different lifestyles and preferences. Although, I do have a few go to pieces of advice I tell everyone who is seriously shopping for a new vehicle.

Be Your Own Expert

BeOwnExpert

No one know better than you what you like and dislike. Spend a little time shopping from your phone. Assess your current vehicle and decide what you really like about it (and what you can’t stand).  Take time to really consider your budget. Know what your ideal payment amount is ahead of shopping.

You MUST Test Drive

MustTestDrive

Very few first dates are love at first sight. The same thing can be said for car shopping. A car purchase is a commitment. You must spend some quality time with it before you decide to buy. If you don’t have to make a decision right away, look and see if there are any upcoming auto shows or test drive events coming up in your area. Events like these often have opportunities to test drive without the pressure to make a purchase.

Everyone I’ve ever talked to always felt more confident and empowered to make their own decisions once they had a little information to help guide them. Knowledge is Power! Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book, the most-visited car shopping and information websites, are the ultimate #GFGuideToCarShopping. The car shopping guide includes expert tips including:

  1. How to smartly navigate the car-shopping process
  2. How to negotiate the deal
  3. Everything you need to know when shopping for a used or certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle
  4. Ways you can get new car smart if you’re searching for a brand-new ride

Learn more at GirlfriendsGuidetoCarShopping.com and then go out and confidently get the car that you’ve been looking for.

But Wait! In the comments below, tell me what the #1 thing you look for in a new car is? Performance? Great sound? Safety? Design ?

Kids Car Review : 2016 Kia Sedona

Kids Car reviews 2016 Kia Sedona

Now where do I start? Well, if you have been here for awhile, you already know my mom has worked very hard to get to where she is right now. One of the companies she works with that I personally, really like is Kia.  We’ve been driving the 2016 Kia Sedona minivan for a while now. It has these backseat chairs that recline, like ALL the way back,  which are perfect for road trips.

Just an example off the top of my head, about how great they are is from last weekend….when we went on a trip to Galveston, TX. We drove there which took 3, almost 4, hours. Ugh….and we had to leave at 6am and I remember falling asleep on the way there and then waking up at 8am and thinking that it was 8pm ;).

Anyway what was I saying….. Kia, I really like when we get to drive your new vehicles. I like looking around in the car and seeing what I can find/do then I look at the owner’s manual and seeing any “secrets” that I can find out about. Like at first, my sister and I were disappointed because we could not find an entertainment system. So I was looking through the manual and I saw it…… THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM!!!!!!!!! Sorry, got a little excited. Since then we’ve watched some movies in there like The Fantastic 4, and Kung Fu Panda 2.

I only have one complaint…..I like your company, I really do but it’s very hard when your parents tell you “If you want to get paid, clean the Kia.” So I did.

Kid Car Reviews detailing the 2016 Kia Sedona

I started with the driver side and then the passenger side. I vacuumed under the front seats…and under the front carpets surprisingly the middle seats were easier than the back seats. They were the hardest because you have to move the seats back and forth. Now I haven’t talked about the front much yet. That’s mostly because I can’t drive yet.

I think the seat warmers are a fun feature because you can put the seat all the way up and when your sister sits in the front seat-  she freaks out because her seat  is extra hot- did I mention we live in Texas???

To wrap things up, Kia is a really great family company not just for my mom but for me, my dad, my 1 brother, and 2 sisters- for all of us!

Going Places in the 2016 Toyota Avalon

2016 Toyota Avalon
I am always up for a road trip anytime of year. So when She Buys Cars and Toyota presented us with the opportunity to test out the 2016 Toyota Avalon on our way to the DFW Auto Show it didn’t take us long to pack our bags and get out on the road.

Toyota Avalon trunk space

The ample trunk space was just the beginning of the long list of features in the 2016 Toyota Avalon making this drive so enjoyable. I may have opted for the scenic route just to get a few more miles in. We were wishing we had more distance to cover before we would arrive. I can’t remember the last time I’ve said that on a road trip, can you? Here’s a few things that really made this ride stand out:

The 2016 Toyota Avalon

Toyota Avalon exterior
The Exterior: We all know it’s important not to judge a book by it’s cover. Lucky for us, we are talking cars today not books- judge away! There is no denying the Toyota Avalon brings plenty of visual appeal.

Safety: Two elements that really make this an anxiety free drive are the standard backup camera with available projected path and the blind spot monitor. The back up camera video quality is exceptionally clear which really brings peace of mind living in a neighborhood with lots of children and pets. The backup camera also helps guide you into or out of tight spots with ease.

Once you get out onto the road the blind spot monitor becomes your best friend to alert of fast approaching vehicles you may not have seen by illuminating a warning signal on the correct outside mirror.

The Interior:

2016 Toyota Avalon Interior

Interior comforts matter to everyone. Whether you are the passenger or the driver you will appreciate the attention to detail here, which includes heated/ventilated seating with lumbar support. The Toyota Avalon premium leather seating offers a very contoured feel making everyone, front or rear, feel secure on even the curviest of routes. The roofline allowed room for my 6 ft+ husband to still be comfortable in the back and plenty of legroom too. If you are in the rear seating you will find the center armrest cup holders and trunk pass-through exceptionally convenient to access any items reducing the need for frequent stops. The ambient interior lighting was a nice touch as well.

Performance: Toyota Avalon offers a sport mode option that increases throttle response and quickens the electric power steering (EPS) giving the offers a livelier handling experience anytime during your drive. Toyota Avalon Sport mode

Toyota Avalon Gas Mileage

When talking road trips we can’t leave out gas mileage. For those of you on the conservative side the Avalon also offers an eco option and normal mode in addition to the performance sport mode.  We had different objectives during different parts of our road trip and we are betting you will too. Overall you can estimate about 21/31/24 (mpg city/highway/combined).

You can tell by the smiles on our faces we had a great time on our drive. The Toyota Avalon played a big part in that. To learn more about the rest of the features of this and other vehicles Toyota offers check them out on their website here.

Thanks again to both She Buys Cars & Toyota for this opportunity to get out on the road! Looking forward to going more places together.

The 2016 DFW Auto Show

DFW Auto Show

The 2016 DFW Auto Show

The 2016 DFW Auto Show has an impressive line up of vehicles on display and many opportunities to get behind the wheel to shop, test drive and dream.  Attending an auto show is the perfect way to explore in a no pressure environment. It’s also perfect timing for a Spring Break adventure without leaving the city!

Randall and I had the opportunity to get a preview during press days and had a fabulous time. We did a few ride & drives and each found something we would like to take home. I fell in LOVE with the Kia K900 during our ride and drive.

Randall fell in love with something a little more exclusive. Here he is sitting in the Rezvani Beast next to Mr Ferris Rezvani himself. This is only the third of its kind ever made.
