Our new Doctor Makes Housecalls : Dr on Demand #FeelBetter

This is a sponsored post with Mums the Word Network and Doctor on Demand. All opinions are my own

We are pretty lucky not to get sick very often. Although with 6 of us, all going to different schools and meeting new people someone is bound to bring home an unwelcome germ that outstays its welcome eventually. This month it was me. We experienced a domino strep outbreak on our street recently. When it hit our house, it liked me best.

As a mom, you are skilled at recognizing the signs and your minds start swirling “I don’t have time or money to be sick.”  It’s as if we can WILL ourselves not to be sick. But boy, do I try. I mean, the effort it takes to get everyone together to go sit in a waiting room with other sick people is exhausting, even when I’m feeling well. I just know we will come home with more than we brought in. Because of this, I put off going to the doctor for a few days, isolating myself in my room. I was dreading the waiting room. It finally B-A-D. Can’t the Dr just come to me????

Guess what? I found a Dr that makes house calls!!!!! ( Give them a call- they will come to your house too!) I cannot wait to share Doctor on Demand with you!

Doctor On Demand is a healthcare service that provides Video Visits with board certified physicians, psychologists, and lactation consultants via smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. Patients simply download the Doctor On Demand app on a smartphone or tablet or visit www.doctorondemand.com on their desktop computer, provide a list of their symptoms, and are instantly connected to a provider licensed in their state for a video visit. So actually you can be seen by a doctor wherever you are.

Imagine picking up your child from school, seeing the Dr on your smartphone, and driving directly to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription if needed. You and your child can be home resting in no time. It was so easy for me. I created an account and in less than 3 minutes was talking face to face with a doctor. He asked me lots of questions, which made me feel like he was getting an accurate, well-informed view of my condition and I was picking up a prescription within 40 minutes of my call. I couldn’t have driven to a clinic and been seen in less than an hour.

Doctor On Demand is launching a promotion where they are offering everyone’s first video visit for FREE. Because they are providing a very new kind of healthcare experience at Doctor on Demand, they want to help you feel comfortable giving it a try. Therefore, for a limited time beginning on February 1, 2015  they are offering all new users of Doctor on Demand a special coupon that will cover the cost of your first video visit with a Doctor on Demand physician or psychologist. Use the code : chases15 . The great part is you don’t have to have an illness at this very moment. Simply go set up your free account and load the coupon code into your account. This code will credit your account with a value of $50.00. This will cover the cost of either one (1) Medical Video Visit or one (1) Psychologist Video Visit.

Prices after your trial visit are very reasonable as well. Especially after you factor in the time you saved driving and waiting somewhere else.
