A First Taste of the New Potbelly Flats! #FlattenedByFlavor

Recently , the people at Potbelly and Popchips invited me to their Flats “First Taste” event where they would be unveiling Flats and some of their newest menu items. They also allowed me to bring the  Mr. which made it kind of like a date night (double awesome!!!)

Potbelly Flats “First Taste” Event #FlattenedByFlavor

As soon as we arrived, we could hear great acoustic music playing and saw that the entire upstairs had been set up for the event.  We were immediately greeted and each handed Potbelly’s new frozen raspberry lemonade, launching this June.  This drink is the perfect summer treat and paired so nicely with our meal.

We picked a nice table for two (With our family size, we never get to sit at the table for 2!) in the corner near the musician. Did you know Potbelly has live music every day at lunchtime? What a great mood lifter in the middle of a workday!

At our table was a menu of all the Flats we would be sampling that evening. We talked about which ones we thought we would like best as we waited for everyone to arrive.

Soon the marketing manager introduced herself to our group and gave us a little background on all the excitement surrounding the introduction of Potbelly Flats. Flats are a thin multigrain bread, kind of like a pita but are sturdy enough to hold the same amount of Potbelly hand-sliced meats and cheeses. The great thing is they are 90 calories less than Potbelly Origionals!  She also gave us a chance to win a Potbelly Gift Card by posting a “Sandwich Selfie” with the winner to be announced at the event. So fun!

Then began our tasting event. We started off with the Mediterranean. This was one of my favorites. It was a hummus spread, artichoke hearts, feta, roasted red pepper, and cucumber. Next was the Wreck, which included roast beef, ham, salami, turkey, and Swiss cheese.

To go along with our Flats we each had a bag of barbecue flavor Popchips. If you’ve never had Popchips, I recommend you check them out. They have no preservatives like hydrogenated oils or msg.  They make snacking a little healthier and were a great compliment to our Potbelly Flats.

Next on the Potbelly tasting menu were the Italian, Chicken & Cheddar, and Turkey Breast Flats.  At half a sandwich each we were getting pretty full, even as yummy as they were a few bites was all I could do. So I snapped a few “Sandwich Selfies” of the Mr. to submit to the contest. I do love a fun social media contest!!Potbelly Sandwich Selfie

Before our “First Taste” event wrapped up the marketing manager requested our attention to announce a winner ( drum roll, please…………) Thrill of the Chases!!!! Whoo Hoo!  We do have a “little” experience with selfies, maybe more than I care to admit, ha!. Now we can visit again soon with with the whole family to see what they think of the new menu.   We were pretty excited to win the gift card.  But Potbelly wasnt going to let anyone go away empty handed. Everyone who was invited that evening received a box full of Potbelly goodies and a dozen mini oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Those cookies were soooo good!

Cookies for a Cause : A dozen Tiff’s Treats for $4

Tiff’s Treats will hold a grand opening fundraiser at its newest location in DFW – its sixth in DFW and its first Las Colinas store — at 114 E. We want to help celebrate making Viggo’s wish a reality. By purchasing a dozen Tiff’s Treats (6 box max) for only $4, you can make sure this event is a success! Proceeds up to $5,000 will be donated to A Wish with Wings. Viggo and his family will be there to share in the fun.
